SIPA YANKEY DID NOT TAKE M&J BRIBE- LAWYER KWAME GYAN

One of the Defendants for George Sipa Yankey who has been indicted in the M&J bribery scandal, Lawyer Kwame Gyan said there is no document backing claims that his client took bribe in the M&J scandal.
He explained that George Yankey’s name came during the proceedings but there was no evidence to back the claims that he (Sipa) took bribe from the company.
Lawyer Kwame Gyan gave the explanation on Edwaso Nsem with Ekourba Gyasi this morning. He added that officials’ of M&J Company took the case at a court in UK that they paid bribe to some officials in Ghana including Sipa Yankey and others.
He explained that no one gave evidence in the court indicating that Sipa Yankey took bribe from the company.
Lawyer Kwame Gyan therefore said the court did not find Sipa Yankey guilty of bribery charges.

Lawyer Kwame Gyan continued that the defendant team asked the SFO office in UK to provide them with documents backing the claims of the allegation but could not provide the papers including Sipa Yankey’s bank.

Meanwhile, Lawyer Kwame Gyan said the defendant’s team will table every evidence gathered and present it to CHRAJ when they return from U.K.
