HEAVY DOWNPOUR DISPLACED MANY IN W/R

Many people have been displaced in the Jomoro and Enchi areas in the Western Region following last weekend heavy down pour.
The affected people are now putting up with friends and family members in the neighboring towns.
In an interview with Adom Kasiebo this morning, the Western Regional Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo confirmed that and said the regional coordinating directorate has visited the flood victims and assisted them with relief items.
The western Region is enriched with many natural resources like Gold, Bauxite, Cocoa, Rubber and Timber. Despite all these natural richness of the region, many roads in the region is unmotorable.
Mr. Aidoo noted the that the region is surrounded by numerous rivers and streams, so whenever it rains these rivers overflow it banks and caused havoc to those living in such places.
The Western Regional Minister has therefore urged the people living near river Desre in Enchi to relocate to safer place to avoid any future occurrence.
Meanwhile, the collapsed bridge on the Enchi- Bechema road is yet to receive attention for reconstruction because the contract is now in tender.
