Works on the Konongo-Kumawu-Kwahu water treatment plant will start in on time as funds for the project has been made available.
The Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing, Albert Abongo in an interview with Adom Kasiebo disclosed this.
He explained that the water facility cover people in Konongo, Kumawu in the Ashanti Region and Kwahu in the Eastern Region, which has been popularly, nicknamed ‘the 3 Ks towns’.
Mr. Abongo noted that money for the main project was approved during the erstwhile NPP administration and what Parliament is yet to approve is an insurance cover.
He explained that external donors always demand insurance cover on any project they finance and this has accounted for the late approval of the 14 Million Dollars insurance cover for the water treatment project which will also be sited in Konongo.
