TWO ROBBERS KILLED IN TEMA

The Tema Regional Police have confirmed that two armed robbers who were shot while trying to escape at Ashiaman have died.
The robbers died on their way to show the police their hide out at Ashiaman.
The Tema Regional Police Commander, DCOP Augustine Gyening who confirmed this to Adom Kasiebo said the robbers died yesterday afternoon when the police was escorting them to their hide out at Ashiaman ‘Barima Nkwan’.
The robbers were arrested yesterday morning when the Tema police had information that some robbers were attempting to rob the Ashiaman ECG collection point.
DCOP Gyening explained that upon this tip off the police laid ambush for the robbers and started firing when the robbers attempted to start their operation.
The Tema Regional Police Commander told Adom Kasiebo that the police arrested the two and impounded an Opel Vectra with registration number GW 6644 U that they were using for the operation.
Luck however runs out for the two suspects while the driver of the vehicle they were using for the operation that they gave his name as ‘Kofi escaped.
The robbers who were inconsistent with their names gave as much as 6-7 names ranging from Abubakari, Ahmed, Mohammed and other names while claiming they are from Togo and Nigeria with their age as 25 years each.
Meanwhile their bodies have been deposited at the Police Hospital in Accra.
