As part of the Build Our Nation projects carry by out Zain Communications, Zain has answered to the plight of the pupils of Krobo- Odumase Presby Junior High School to pull down the old dilapidated school which was built in 1883.
Speaking to the press, the Chief Executive Officer for Zain Ghana, Chris Gabriel said Zain believe that education is a basic human right.
He said having seen the structure with deep cracks and virtually collapse building seems that, the place is beyond repairs and what needs to be done is a complete rebuild.
Aside the 3-unit-classroom block and store room, a library will be constructed and stuffed it with reading books. The project is carried by Zain Corporate Social Responsibility team.
Mr. Chris Gabriel noted that Zain responded to the plight of the pupil through a publication in the dailies that the dilapidated school has claimed one life during a rain storm with three children severely injured.
Ironically, beside this school is an edifice of a Presby church who built the school and a few meters away from the school is state of the art traditional palace.
Adom Kasiebo therefore inquired from the traditional rulers why they have neglected the school in all these 126 years without adding a block to what their forefathers did, Manyena Naateyki the first said traditional rulers in the Krobo- Odumase area do not have royalties and as such have no money to rehabilitate their school.
She said GHACEM has now started concession of limestone production and hope to accrue something from it.
